The road of one order

  1. Keep every sheet by weight

Brass, red copper and nickel silver sheets are kept by weight, each metal with its price per kilo. Change that price, and new quotes follow it.

  2. Price a tray to measure

Enter the diameter, the metal, the decoration and the finish. The quote then prices the disc, the hammering, the engraving or chasing, the polishing and any silver plating. Basins and chandeliers have their own ready-made templates.

  3. See the metal lost at each step

Hand metal to an artisan by weight. When the work comes back it is weighed as finished pieces, scrap and unused metal, and the loss is checked against what the step allows.

  4. Pay artisans by the piece

Hammering, chasing and openwork are paid by the piece into the monthly pay. Silver plating is sent out and goes onto a supplier invoice draft.

  5. Stock pieces at their cost

When every step is done, each piece gets its cost from the metal used, the steps paid and the workshop time. Trays and lanterns made for stock enter it at that cost.

0.89 kg of brass for one tray

A tray of Ø 400 mm starts from a disc of 0.126 m². In 0.8 mm brass that disc weighs 0.85 kg. With the 4 % allowed for loss, the quote counts 0.89 kg, which is the weight the configurator shows.
