Take the ironwork shop off paper.

Replace paper and Excel in an ironwork shop and, if yours still runs on paper or spreadsheets, stop pricing gates by hand from a sketch. You describe a gate once, and its size gives the bars, the tube lengths, the welding hours and the price.

What paper costs you each month

  • Someone prices each gate by hand from a sketch, counting the bars, adding up the tube lengths and guessing the welding time. The total changes from one person to the next.
  • Quotes stay at last month’s steel price, because changing it means going through every open quote.
  • Bars are cut one job at a time, so usable ends lean against the wall without a length and new 6 m bars get opened.
  • Scrap goes in a bin and is sold by the truckload, and nobody knows what it weighed or what it was worth.
  • Welding hours are paid from a notebook at the end of the month, and then the questions start about which job they belonged to.

Steel counted by bar and kilo

  • A gate template turns the width, the height, the leaves, the bar spacing and the painting into the number of bars, the tube and flat-bar lengths, the welding hours and the painted area.
  • Steel and stainless steel each carry a price per kilo, and quotes stay valid for the days you set, 15 by default.
  • Lengths are planned on 6 m bars with the saw kerf counted, and usable ends come back to stock as numbered pieces.
  • Scrap goes into stock by weight, to sell or to send back.
  • Each step, from cutting and welding to painting and installation, is closed on a phone. Welding paid by the hour goes into the monthly pay.

How you move off paper

  1. Send your lists

Your metals, the bars or sheets in stock, your customers and your price list come in from Excel.

  2. Get a workspace for your trade

The workspace starts with the products, units, documents and rules of your trade.

  3. Train the team

The first session is with the people who quote, cut and deliver.

  4. Start with one order

The next order goes through the software from the quote to the invoice.

Price your next gate from its size.

The live demo is a stone workshop, where an order goes from its sizes to the cut list and the price, the same steps a gate takes. Write to us about your workshop, and we tell you how your steel and price list would move in.
