Take the glass workshop off paper.

Replace paper and Excel in a glass workshop and, if yours still runs on paper or spreadsheets, stop pricing panes by hand and keeping sheets in a notebook. A pane template gives the price from the size, the edges, the holes and the tempering.

What paper costs you each month

  • Panes are priced by hand from their size, with edges, holes and tempering added from memory. A small pane ends up priced below what cutting it costs.
  • Sheets and offcuts are kept without their size, so a new sheet is cut while a usable offcut stands in the rack.
  • Panes are laid out on the sheet by eye, and the cutting table cannot follow a layout whose cuts do not run edge to edge.
  • Tempering is sent out, and its cost stays off the job until the supplier’s invoice arrives.
  • A customer asks for a tempered pane to be cut again, because the quote never said it cannot be.

One template for every pane

  • A pane template turns the width, height, glass, ground edges, tempering and holes into a price, with a minimum billed area you set. Round mirrors are priced from their diameter.
  • Sheets and offcuts are numbered pieces with their size, and offcuts from 150 mm up come back to stock with a label.
  • Cutting plans use offcuts first, with cuts running edge to edge and 2 mm between panes.
  • Cutting, edge grinding and drilling are closed on a phone. Tempering sent out goes onto a supplier invoice draft.
  • The quote says that tempered glass cannot be cut again. The delivery note and the invoice come from the same order.

How you move off paper

  1. Send your lists

Your glass types, your sheets and offcuts in stock, your customers and your price list come in from Excel.

  2. Get a workspace for your trade

The workspace starts with the products, units, documents and rules of your trade.

  3. Train the team

The first session is with the people who quote, cut and deliver.

  4. Start with one order

The next order goes through the software from the quote to the invoice.

Price every pane the same way.
